5 DAYS FROM FEZ TO THE SAHARA DESERT MARRAKECH

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes

Fez will be our starting point towards Merzouga. On the way we will pass through Ifrane.
Small mountainous city with European style and cold climate all year round; hence its name “Switzerland of Morocco.” Then, we will visit the city of Azrou located in the middle Atlas and whose population is of Amazigh origin. Its economy is based entirely on wood and carpets that reflect the Amazigh culture.
Azrou is really not known other than the cedar forests that surround it and the monkeys that live there. Since it is a very attractive place for both national and international tourists.
Later, we will have lunch before continuing the road to the Ziz valley and its gorges and Merzouga.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga

On the second day of the trip we have to explore the desert and especially the wonderful sand dunes. The itinerary includes a rich and delicious breakfast that we will have before starting the great tour of the dunes. Get ready to get up close and personal with the culture of the nomads and the local people who live there. We will pass countless towns in the desert until we reach the town of Khamlia. Small town known for Gnawa music. There, we will make a stop to enjoy a small show of this musical style.
Then we will continue the excursion via Rissani where we will have lunch with a typical Berber pizza. In the afternoon we will ride the camels heading to the heart of the dunes to witness the fantastic sunset and spend the night in the camp. We will have a traditional dinner: tagine, and delicious drink: mint tea, accompanied by traditional Berber music while contemplating the starry sky.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Todra Gorges

Return to the hotel to have a delicious Moroccan breakfast, and shower before continuing to Rissani. Upon arriving in Rissani, we will walk through its most authentic and traditional souk in Morocco, and the largest in the entire south of the country. Later, we continue via Erfud, the city famous for its fossil work, and we will cross the impressive Ziz Valley, until we reach the impressive Todra canyons, known for rock climbing. There, they will be able to go hiking before checking into the hotel where dinner and accommodation will take place.

Day 4: Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

On the fourth day of the trip, we headed to Ouarzazate. On the way we will pass the road of 1,000 thousand kasbahs, highlighted by enormous kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of those old fortified houses are restored, but many are already ruins. We will continue through the Dades Valley and climb to the mountainous area through an off-road track, where we will find many Berber peoples and few nomads who live in caves, very friendly people who will welcome us and we can get closer to their life. daily life and its main activity caring for the herds of piebald goats. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate we will have dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

Returning to Marrakech, we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Kasbah of Ait benhaddou declared World Heritage. We will continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. Lunch will take place at a local restaurant in Telouet.
