6 DAYS FROM MARRAKECH TO THE DESERT

At 8:00 in the morning we meet at the hotel or riad where you are staying in Marrakech, to take you on a trip towards the port of Tizi Ntichka (2,260m altitude) making our way through numerous villages of Berber nomads that inhabit the area. Spectacular landscape that will take us to one of the best preserved and most famous kasbahs in all of Morocco: the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, famous for being the setting for more than twenty films, such as Babel, Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz. . Lunch will be in Ait Benhaddou, before continuing the road to Ouardazate, the Kasbah of Taourirt, the Valley of Roses, the great palm grove of Skoura and Boumalne, where we will enjoy the rocky landscape known as “the brain of the Atlas”. Dinner and accommodation will take place in the Dadès Valley.

We will continue via the Todra Gorges, where you can take a pleasant walk among its imposing canyon with walls more than 200 meters high.
This area is a paradise for all climbers in the world. After lunch in a restaurant in the Gorges and continuation towards the Merzouga desert, passing through the palm grove of Tafilalet and Erfoud. Once in the impressive Dunes of Merzouga we will have a glass of hospitality tea.
We rested a little. Afterwards, there is the possibility of taking a walk on the fine sand of Erg-Chebbi. The dinner menu includes a delicious Berber dish.

After a delicious breakfast in Merzouga, we will get into the 4X4 to discover the dunes of Merzouga. Starting with Erg-chebbi where we will make a special stop at a panoramic point where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. Then, we will visit the Berber village of Khamlia where you can enjoy a small show of Gnawa music that is well known in the area. Returning to the hotel in the afternoon, we will ride the camels towards the Great Dune of the Erg Chebbi desert. During the walk, approximately an hour and a half, we will be able to appreciate the beautiful sunset and have a glass of tea when we arrive at our camp. Delicious dinner, drum music, unique landscapes, starry sky, Berber tent, stories and laughter, and new memories are being created.

We will wake up early to appreciate the sunrise over the sand dunes. Return by camel to the lodge for a shower and breakfast. Then, we will leave for Rissani; where the largest souk in all of Southern Morocco is located and where all types of artisan products, food and animals are traded. The landscapes that we will see along the way until we reach Erfoud, a city famous for its fossil work, are impressive. We continue through the Ziz Valley, with its more than 18,000 palm trees, until we reach Midelt where we will stop for lunch. We will continue the road to Fez passing through Ifrane. Dinner and overnight in Fez.

Full free day to get to know Fez: the religious and cultural center of the country. Which contains the oldest university in the world: Alqaraouine, a university famous for the study of Arabic and the Muslim religion. In Fez there are many historical monuments and impressive places worth visiting, such as: Fès el-Jdid (the new Fes), where the Mellah (the Jewish quarter) is located, the Ville Nouvelle (New Town) French area in the northwest of the city, Fez el-Bali, the old area, inside the walls. There, you can take a walk through the narrow alleys of the old Medina and see the tanners’ souk. Accommodation will take place at the riad.

As soon as you finish your breakfast, we will leave in the direction of Marrakech; passing through: Ifrane, Azrou, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, etc. Along the way, we will stop for lunch before continuing on the way to Marrakech. Upon arriving at our destination, we will transfer you to your riad, and we encourage you to continue discovering the corners of this city as you wish.
