The tour begins in Tangier, famously called “the Bride of the North,” where you will visit the Cape Spartel and the legendary Hercules Cave. From there, travel across the scenic Rif Mountains to the charming blue city of Chefchaouen, known for its narrow alleys and striking blue-painted buildings.

Next, discover the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before exploring the imperial cities of Meknes and Fes. In Fes, wander through its well-preserved medieval medina, colorful souks, and historic landmarks. You will also visit Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests near Azrou, home to the Barbary macaques.

The journey continues to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you can ride camels across golden dunes, watch a breathtaking sunset, and spend the night in a luxury desert camp under the star-filled sky. Witness the magical desert sunrise before departing for Todra and Dades gorges, with their dramatic cliffs and scenic valleys.The tour also includes visits to historical Kasbahs and the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Morocco Itinerary – 6 Days Tour

Day 1 Tangier – Chefchaouen (2 Hours Drive)

On the first day of your 6-day tour from Tangier, we will pick you up from your accommodation, airport, or port in Tangier. Known as the “Bride of the North,” the city lies where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel. Explore the city’s highlights, including the Hercules Caves and Cape Spartel. Free time for lunch. Later, drive inland to Chefchaouen via Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, with stops for panoramic views. Overnight stay in a hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 2Chefchaouen – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes (4 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, wander the charming blue alleys of Chefchaouen. Then drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its mosaics, columns, and arches. Continue 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Visit Bab al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, Royal Stables, granaries, and Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then proceed to Fes. Overnight in a riad.

Day 3Guided Sightseeing in Fes (30min Drive / 2–3 Hours Walking Tour)

After breakfast, begin your guided exploration of Fes, one of Morocco’s iconic imperial cities. Start with a driving tour, visiting the Royal Palace Gate, the historic Mellah or Jewish Quarter, and the Borj Sud fortress for stunning panoramic views of the city. Continue to the Ceramic Village & School, where you can observe traditional Moroccan craftsmanship in action.

Next, embark on a walking tour through the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the Al Attarine Madrasa, the University and Mosque of Al Quaraouiyine, which is considered the world’s oldest university, and the Chouara Tanneries, where leather is dyed using centuries-old techniques. After this immersive journey through history and culture, return to your riad for a chance to relax

Day 4Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara (7 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, drive south via Imouzzer to Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco, known for cool climate and alpine-style houses. Continue to the Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques, with a short walk among ancient trees. Drive to Midelt for lunch, then cross the Tizi-n-Talghamt Pass along the Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views.

Arrive at Merzouga Sahara in the afternoon. Switch to camels for a ride across the desert dunes, stopping atop a high dune to watch the sunset. Continue to your luxury desert camp, featuring traditional nomad tents and modern comforts, and enjoy Berber drumming around a campfire under a star-filled sky. Overnight in Merzouga desert camp.

Day Trip to Middle Atlas, Cedar Forest, Ifrane & Azrou from Fes

Day 5 Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley (Approx. 5-Hour Drive)

Begin your day early to enjoy a spectacular Sahara sunrise, a truly unforgettable moment. After breakfast, leave the desert behind and travel to Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalet, known for its traditional souk and lively market atmosphere. Continue to Erfoud, where you’ll explore a fossilized marble workshop, showcasing the region’s unique geological heritage.

Your journey then takes you through the scenic palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad toward the breathtaking Todra Gorges. This natural wonder features a dramatic canyon carved by the Todra River, with towering red cliffs that attract climbers and nature lovers alike.

In the afternoon, head to the beautiful Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping to admire the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the valley. End your day with a relaxing dinner and overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.

Day 6Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura Palm Groves – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech (Approx. 5.5-Hour Drive)

After breakfast, continue your journey to Kelaat M’Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses, where local products like rose water, essential oils, and cosmetics are celebrated, especially during the annual festival in May. Then travel through the scenic Skoura palm groves toward Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert, where you’ll visit the famous film studios.

Next, explore the iconic Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and fortified village featured in popular films and series like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Afterwards, cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with time for photo stops and lunch along the way.

Your journey ends with a drop-off at your riad in Marrakech, marking the conclusion of your 6-day desert tour.

Just off the main square is the Mausoleum of Idriss I, a sacred destination that is open only to Muslims. It is said in Morocco that six pilgrimages to Moulay Idriss during the annual festival honoring the saint is equivalent to one Haj to Mecca.

     Best 5 days hosted by guide Zaid. Zaid was our driver and guide for 5 days starting in Casablanca and ending in Rissani. He was a not only an incredible driver and guide he was a perfect host too. He was very knowledgable in local history of important sites but also the culture too. His personal experiences and his willingness to share his own stories gave us first hand insight into Moroccan life. I would recommend Zaid and consider yourself lucky if you have him!!!

     Wonderlust and Hazim are the best! We did a day tour at Chefchauoen with Wonderlust and our tour guide Hazim was excellent!!! Very knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming into his town. Walking around he didn't just know the town, he knew everyone in town! That made it more of a special experience as we felt like we were fully connecting with the culture. He even made sure we found some Sfinge. Delicious 😋. We met him as a tour guide and left as family. Gracias hermano.

     Zaid with Morocco made our trip!! Just finished the most amazing 6 days with Zaid- traveling to Chefchaceoun/Fes/Merzouga. Zaid was door to door our host from airport to airport. He was so knowledgeable and personable. A total pleasure to travel with. So sad our time is over. He is the best ambassador for Morocco.      Southern Morocco It was a great experience. We covered the southern part of Morocco. Youness, our tour guide was very informative and made sure we had the best overall experience. He also made arrangements for my vegetarian friend and we had some of the best food as well. He planned out our camel ride in the Sahara desert so that we could enjoy the sunset on our way to the tents. Again, shout out to Youness, great guy and very helpful throughout the trip. Definitely going to plan a trip to the Northern parts of Morocco with these guys.

     Paseo a Marruecos con Youness Echatri El paseo con Youness estuvo increible. Tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar muchos sitios y de comer una comida deliciosa. It was my husband’s second trip to Morocco with Wanderlust.  Khalid was our driver and guide. He went above and beyond expectations to keep us safe on the road. While driving he gave us fascinating insights into the culture, religion, agriculture, geography and food of his country.  He answered our questions.  He also coordinated with local guides to give us tours that were interesting to us.  For example, one of us weaves, so we met some masterful weavers working at their looms. He anticipated our needs for rest breaks, made sure restaurants were clean and served the food we desired.  We were honored that Khalid took us to his family home to enjoy meeting his family. His mother made delicious Berber pizza and a multitude of tasty treats for us.  Her tea was the BEST we had. Wanderlust booked well located and beautifully designed Riads for our stays. Many had hammams, roof top bars and excellent dining. All had large rooms or suites with decor that was fun and exotic. Over the course of 9 days, we felt that we had an excellent experience in Morocco. Winnie and Megan listened to our wishes and offered suggestions that made for a trip that was uniquely ours. We highly recommend Khalid as a driver and ambassador for his country and his Berber cultural roots.

The selection of places to visit and stay for the night was perfect. We were impressed by the diversity and beauty of the country, from the imperial cities to the desert. We also had the best time with Mustafa. He was a great and highly reliable guide as well as a careful driver. He also told us lots of interesting things about Moroccon life and culture - and at the same time gave us our own space to enjoy the country. We loved listening to Berber music and would always go back for another trip with him.
