On the first day, you’ll be picked up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, often called “the Bride of the North.” Tangier lies where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel. Begin your exploration with a visit to the city’s highlights, including the Hercules Cave and the Cape Spartel cliffs. After free time for lunch, drive inland through Tetouan and the scenic Rif Mountains, with stops for panoramic views, before reaching the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen. Enjoy a relaxed morning wandering the picturesque blue alleys of Chefchaouen. Later, travel to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its well-preserved mosaics, pillars, and arches. Continue about 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you’ll visit Bab al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, Royal Stables and granaries, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. End the day with a drive to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad.

After breakfast, drive south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style chalets, cool climate, and winter snow. Continue to the cedar forests near Azrou, home to Barbary macaques—take a short walk among the ancient trees and, if you like, feed the monkeys. Stop in Midelt for lunch, then cross the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass and follow the scenic Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic views. By late afternoon, arrive at the Sahara dunes of Merzouga. Switch to camels and ride across the golden sands, stopping atop a high dune for sunset. Conclude the day at a luxury desert camp, enjoying Berber drumming under a sky full of stars. Wake early to watch the unforgettable sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, depart for Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalet, with its lively souk active on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Continue to Erfoud to visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Drive through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges, where dramatic red cliffs rise above the Todra River, perfect for walking or rock climbing. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, with scenic stops at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and viewpoints overlooking the valley. After breakfast, drive to Kelaat M’Gouna to explore the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual May Rose Festival and rose-based products, including rose water, oils, and cosmetics. Continue through the palm groves of Skoura to visit the historic Kasbah Amridil. Next, reach Ouarzazate to tour the film studios before visiting the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village featured in movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and the series Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for lunch and panoramic photos along the way, before arriving in Marrakech, where the tour concludes with drop-off at your riad.
